The Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) has revealed the biggest Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) in Kenya in terms of assets.
In the 2023 Sacco Supervision Annual Report launched on Wednesday, September 12, SASRA reported a strong growth in assets among top-tier SACCOs.
The Authority revealed that regulated SACCOs now command Sh971 billion in total assets, Sh682 billion in deposits, and Sh758 billion in loans.
Mwalimu National emerged as the richest SACCO with Sh66.43 billion in assets, a growth from Sh64.06 billion in 2022.
It was followed by Stima DT which reported Sh59.15 billion in assets in 2023, a growth from Sh53.78 billion in 2022.
On the other hand, Kenya National Police’s assets grew from Sh48.98 billion in 2022 to Sh54.24 billion in 2023, to close the top 3 list.
