Popular radio Citizen presenter Steve Jacob Maunda alias Shatta Bway has bid farewell to the Royal Media Services-owned station after five years.
The presenter was known for his mid-morning show Waks Tikitaka, which he hosted alongside Q-tee and DJ Rambo.
Announcing his exit on Monday, March 18, Shatta expressed his gratitude to Waks Tikitaka fans for their support over the past five years.
“It has been five amazing years in Waks Tikitaka. Thank you very much for becoming our family. You have stood by us in every corner we took. We came here green, and you have made us number one for those five years, and we don’t take it for granted,” he said.
He pointed out that parenthood necessitated the exit, considering he is a single parent following the death of his wife last year.

“Where I am in life, I am making decisions as two parents. I have to think like a mother and as a father, and I need time with my children. For example, my son is now 13 years old, and this is the point at which a parent is likely to lose their children unknowingly,” Shatta explained.
“I feel I need time with my kids, and I can’t be working on something that ties me down daily, limiting what I need to do with my kids. I am trying just to be the best dad.” He added.
He revealed plans to venture into consultancy and strategy as well as remain committed to empowering the youths.
“Regardless of where I go, I will maintain inspiring youth like I have always done on my radio show,” he affirmed.
