Jumia Kenya is set to hold the first ever Super Brand Day in Kenya’s e-commerce sector.
Jumia, which is Kenya’s largest online shopping destination will hold the shopping extravaganza on February 25.
The company has teamed up with leading consumer goods company Unilever East Africa for the event.
The shopping event is aimed at building up the online retail experience in Kenya.
“Some of the proceeds from this day will be dedicated to improving the lives of children across the country through donations to kidogo centers, a social enterprise that provides high-quality, affordable early childhood care and education for low income families living in Kenya’s urban slums,” says Jumia Kenya in a statement.
The event comes as more Kenyan consumers embrace online shopping solutions for their day to day supplies.
“This campaign is testament to Jumia Kenya’s commitment to connecting customers to the world’s largest brands. This is the first of many to come this year,” says Jumia Kenya managing director Sam Chapatte.
During the one-day shopping event, online customers will discover the best of what Unilever has to offer, including free samples of Sunlight, the launch of Domestos and value bundles exclusive to Jumia Kenya’s online platform.
Unilever Sales Director Luck Ochieng’ said that the event will not only offer cutting edge discounts to the ever growing online shoppers, but will also create a bright future for hundreds of children.
“I am immensely proud of this campaign aimed at enhancing livelihoods of children within Kidogo centers from the proceeds,” he event dubbed Jumia Super Brand Day.
