Tabitha Ndaka: How motherhood led me into establishing Kenya's pure coconut oil brand

Many Kenyan entrepreneurs can attest that starting a business in Kenya is a leap of faith driven by the labour of love for making lives better. It is a calculated gamble on a dare to be different, challenging the status quo and leaving your mark.

Tabitha Ndaka is one of those who have dipped their toes in the ecstasy of witnessing a creative idea come to life for the enhancement of the lives of those around her and the community at large.

She is the founder of WaridiPure, a natural beauty brand dedicated to the creation, marketing and selling of pure coconut oil for skin and hair.

She wears very many hats; an accountant by profession, a trained hotelier and most importantly, an entrepreneurial coach. She leads The Entrepreneur Boardroom helping other venture owners build their businesses.

Founding Waridipure was a result of personal need when she had just become a mother. She needed pure coconut oil for her son, a product that she had used for the entirety of her upbringing.

A friend connected her to coastal women who engage in the craft. The coconut oil she received was of high quality and it soon became a staple for her family.

“As I used the oil, I noticed that every woman who visited me would ask about it. I even began using it as a massage oil for my son, and it quickly became an essential part of our daily routine,” Tabitha Ndaka told Bizna Kenya.

This was Tabitha’s ‘Aha’ moment that would go on to shape her career in entrepreneurship. Starting the business was both challenging and rewarding. Despite having prior experience in business, this was the first time she engaged in the beauty industry.
