Victor Mugubi Wanyama is a prominent Kenyan professional footballer known for his achievements in the sport. He has featured for big clubs in the football Arena such as Celtic, Tottenham and Southampton FC among others.

Early Career and Rise to Prominence
Wanyama’s football journey began in Kenya, where he attended Kamukunji High School and played for its successful football team. He then joined Kenyan Premier League clubs Nairobi City Stars and AFC Leopards before moving to Allsvenskan club Helsingborg in Sweden in 2007.
However, he returned to Kenya after his brother’s departure to Serie A side Parma in 2008. After joining Beerschot AC in Belgium in 2008, Wanyama made his league debut towards the end of the 2008-09 season.
Wanyama’s exceptional talent did not go unnoticed, and in the summer of 2010, Celtic, a Scottish Premier League club, attempted to sign him. However, Beerschot denied his transfer
In 2011, Wanyama finally sealed his move to Celtic, signing a lucrative four-year contract worth £900,000 and creating history as the first Kenyan to play in the SPL.
 In 2013, he made a move to the Premier League, signing with Southampton for a reported fee of £12.5 million, becoming the first Kenyan to play in the Premier League.
 Success in Europe and Move to CF Montreal
During his time at Southampton, Wanyama established himself as a key player in the midfield. He made 97 appearances for the club.
In 2016, he made another high-profile move to Tottenham Hotspur, signing a five-year contract for a fee of £11 million.
However, in March 2020, Wanyama made a surprising move to Major League Soccer (MLS) club Montreal Impact (now CF Montreal). He signed as a Designated Player, and despite facing challenges due to the 2020 pandemic, he made a positive impact on the team during his two-year tenure.

According to the MLS official site, Wanyama earned a monthly salary of Sh24 million, totaling to an annual guaranteed compensation of Sh373,937,123.

Reports indicate that during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, Wanyama purchased several properties in Kenya, including a Sh60 million property in the United Kingdom.
He also owns a luxury house in Zanzibar, although his plans to purchase it were postponed due to the resumption of the EPL season.
 Wanyama resides in luxurious multi-million dollar homes both in Nairobi and abroad. His primary residence is located in Kileleshwa, an affluent estate in the city, and he also owns a property in London, United Kingdom.
