Terence Creative: I invested nearly Sh. 7 million on Wash Wash 4

In December 2023, comedian and impressionist Lawrence Macharia, alias Terence Creative, along with his wife Milly Chebby, launched their latest show titled Wash Wash Part 4. The show was released on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Its creation came after heightened public demand for a new part. This followed the success of the three earlier parts of the Wash Wash series created by Terence Creative, which gained instant popularity among Kenyans.

The prior instalment, “Wash Wash Biziness,” was released on October 20th, 2021, and quickly became a trend, gaining 1.3 million views on YouTube.

Terence Creative gained fame for his role as Papa Fred, a wealthy Congolese character involved in money laundering schemes and theft from rich clients.

The success of the 4-part Wash Wash series have made him millions in the content creation industry.

“Expect heart-stopping action, brilliantly executed cons, and a series of laugh-out-loud moments as Papa Fred tries to outwit law enforcement and the dangerous criminal underworld,” he wrote.

“With unexpected alliances, betrayals, and countless plot twists, Wash Wash 4 is a rollercoaster of fun, crime, and redemption.”

In a radio interview with media personality Massawe Jappani, Terence Creative disclosed that he invested between Sh. 4 million and Sh. 7 million in the production of the show’s scenes.

He however noted that it was not about the money but about the quality and dedication to entertaining people. The scenes were shot in Dubai, where Terence and Milly Chebby spent 14 days.

Terence also acknowledged receiving lots of support from partner organizations. Additionally, the couple shared that they had saved for two years to ensure the success of ‘Wash Wash I Con 4’.

The couple admitted to challenges in securing capital to complete the movie, but fortunately, good friends stepped in to make it all come together.

“Like when we were in Dubai, we didn’t have funds for a camera. It got to a point, we confessed to the cameraman that we did not have money,” he said on live air.

“Josh Gitonga gave us his gadgets every time we wanted them. He was also shooting the movie, for free.”
