William Kabogo: A look at multi-billion properties, businesses owned by ICT CS

ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo is one of Kenya’s wealthiest politicians with investments in various sectors, including the lucrative real estate sector.

The politician has invested heavily in commercial and residential real estate properties and is one of the top property owners in Kiambu County.

Born in 1961, in Githunguri, Kiambu county, Kabogo attended local schools before joining Punjab University in India, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree.

He served as the first Kiambu governor from 2013 to 2017. The wealthy businessman was previously the Juja member of parliament. Initially, he worked in the private sector as an executive director for a non-governmental organisation (NGO).

The 64-year-old politician doesn’t shy away from displaying his wealth on social media. During his vetting as CS on January 14, 2025, Kabogo revealed that his net worth stood at Sh3.01 billion.

He clarified that his wealth comprises assets, real estate, pieces of land, and wealth accumulated over years.

“In residential houses, my total net worth is Sh700 million, movable assets of about Sh40 million, land and farm about Sh756 million, cash and current assets of about Ksh64 million, interest and shares in companies approximately Sh1.5 billion.

“A total of about Sh3.01 billion,” said Kabogo.

The politician previously disclosed he made his fortune from businesses including importing cars and selling them, and supplying goods to the now collapsed Nakumatt Supermarkets.

“I used to supply Nakumatt with goods but I was not a shareholder. It is good for people to think I am fabulously wealthy. If you go to Kiambu, people look at a building and say this one is Kabogo’s,” he said.

Below are some of the assets associated with the politician

Iguta Paradise is made up of 60 units of modern, stylish 4-bedroom villas. Each villa features en-suite bedrooms, master bedroom with a walk-in closet, home office and private gym among other features.
