A Kenyan man has gone viral after wailing in the streets. When members of the public inquired what the problem was, he narrated that he had been dumped by his girlfriend.
He lamented that he was dumped after spending Sh. 620,000 to put her through college. In the viral video, the man, said that he was dumped less than two weeks to the girl’s graduation.
The lady in questioned was identified as ‘Phoebe’.
“This woman decides to eat my money when it’s only two months to her graduation (cries). She ate my money, she ate 620,000. In 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, Phoebe ate my money,” the man was heard saying in the video. The man did not however reveal which institution Phoebe had been attending or the course she was underta

The video has however raised a debate among social media users on the habit of asking for school fees and, or paying for school fees for a partner who isn’t a husband or wife.

On one hand were Kenyans who said that the man was foolish to have spent such a huge amount of money educating his girlfriend in hope she would stick by him after graduation.
On the other hand were social media users who cited that the lady in question did not owe her boyfriend anything.
They argued that the man was not entitled to controling Phoebe’s life, who she went out with or who she chose just because he had paid her school fees.
