The Law Society of Kenya’s Nairobi Branch, in collaboration with affiliated organizations, has strongly condemned and issued a warning against Brian Mwenda Njagi.
It has come to their attention that he had been masquerading as a lawyer and handling high-profile cases, despite not holding an LLB degree or LSK certificate.
Mwenda, who has earned the nickname Mike Ross in reference to the TV character from Suits, has reportedly misled unsuspecting clients that he was licensed to represent them.
Law Society of Kenya’s Rapid Action Team has issued a caution to the public, urging them to remain vigilant and be aware of such deceptive practices.
“It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT), that the pictured person has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch,” the notice read in part.

Online netizens have offered congratulations to Brian Mwenda for his confident approach to pursuing his passion. He has been recognized for his suave demeanour, with instances of harassing police officers and disruptive behaviour at LSK gatherings.
According to the Kenya Universities Students Organization (KUSO), he is also alleged to have won over multiple court cases spanning from the Magistrate Court.
A spot check by the organization has revealed that Mwenda is alleged to be 2nd year student at Chuka University pursuing a Bachelor’s in Criminology.
“KUSO has established, allegedly, that he is a Second Year COMRADE from Chuka University Pursuing Criminology,” the organization wrote in a tweet.
LSK’s Nairobi Branch officially dissociated itself from him, asserting that he was not a member of their legal community. They maintained that they are dedicated to preserving the integrity of the profession and protecting the public from fraud.
“The Branch wishes to notify all members of the society and of the public that BRIAN MWENDA NJAGI is not an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, from the Society’s records, neither is he a member of the Branch.”
Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has promised to bail out Brian Mwenda and cater for his Kenya School of Law (KSL) studies. The tycoon was impressed by his impressive track records in court despite never setting foot in law school.
