Kenya’s electric vehicle company, Roam has teamed up with Greenspoon, an online retailer known for organic food to introduce an eco-friendly delivery service.
The partnership aims to transform food delivery in Kenya by blending the speed and eco-friendliness of Roam Air electric motorcycles with Greenspoon’s service offering of fresh, locally sourced and sustainable produce.
Courtesy of the partnership, Greenspoon customers can expect quicker arrivals for orders. Roam Air will ensure delivery times are reduced to under 99 minutes. This is a big upgrade from the previous wait time of up to 3 hours.
The motorcycle is equipped with a waterproof storage tank and a strong frame, capable of handling up to 15 Greenspoon customer orders each day.
Its removable dual battery system, along with a portable charger, allows riders to recharge at any power outlet, including their warehouse.
This minimizes downtime and ensures continuous business operation. Each Roam Air bike will have 3 batteries hence giving riders 225km of full charge, allowing them to complete up to 195 orders daily.
Greenspoon plans to reach even more customers in addition to the 3500 who already use their app and website to make orders
Roam Air’s zero emissions and ability to carry up to 220kg make it a perfect fit for Greenspoons’ eco-friendly delivery services. The online grocery store stated that this choice supports its mission to lower carbon footprints while promoting local farmers and artisans.

Their GreenspoonGo service also consolidates orders on the same route whenever possible thus taming down further environmental impact.

By leveraging the latest in electric motorcycle technology, our partnership is helping to reduce carbon emissions and provide a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional delivery services.” Dionne Getata, Roam’s Sales Operations Manager said.
