How to apply for IEBC jobs paying up to Sh2,500 daily

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced temporary job vacancies across the country ahead of the November by-elections and the 2027 General Election.

In a statement, the commission said it is seeking to hire individuals to assist with voter registration, logistics, voter education, and election management during the upcoming election.

Among the advertised positions is that of voter registration clerk, a role that will be based in the 57 Huduma Centres across the country.

IEBC is also hiring polling and counting clerks, ICT clerks, voter educators, presiding officers, and Electoral trainers.

Successful candidates will earn a daily wage of between Sh1,000 and Sh2,500, depending on the role. For instance, voter registration clerk who will be responsible for assisting Kenyans in the registration exercise will earn Sh1,500 per day.

On the other hand, polling and counting clerks will earn Sh1,000 per day while ICT clerks will take home Sh1,500 daily.

Voter educators in Wards, constituencies and County levels will take home Sh1,500, Sh2,000, and Sh2,500, respectively.

At the same time, presiding officers and Electoral trainers will each be paid Sh2,000 per day while Deputy presiding officers will earn Sh1,800 per day and logistics officers will be paid Sh1,500 per day.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications online via the IEBC Job Portal (https://jobs.iebc.or.ke) by October 16, 2025.

Here, applicants can also access the detailed duties, responsibilities, and requirements for each category of vacant positions.

Only online applications will be considered. The commission noted that successful candidates should be prepared to work extended hours, depending on the demands of the exercise.

The upcoming by-elections will aim to fill multiple seats, including the Senate seat in Baringo County and six National Assembly constituencies: Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja.

In addition, elections will be held for 17 Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in the following wards: Chewani (Tana River), Fafi (Garissa), Mumbuni North (Machakos), Lake Zone (Turkana), Nanaam (Turkana), Angata Nanyokie (Samburu), Tembeilo (Uasin Gishu), Metkei (Elgeyo Marakwet), Chemundu (Nandi), Narok Town (Narok), Purko (Kajiado), Kisa East (Kakamega), Nyamaiya (Nyamira), Ekerenyo (Nyamira), Nyanisongo (Nyamira), Kariobangi North (Nairobi), and Kabuchai (Bungoma).
