Who killed Kangogo? Was it murder or suicide? When photos emerged on social media on how the late policewoman Caroline Kangogo had died, Kenyans raised concerns that the murder scene did not match that of a death by a gunshot on the head.

Doubts were raise on the sitting position Kangogo was in, how one of her hands was still in her pocket, how the other hand held the pistol, and why there was no blood splash on the wall. In addition, Kenyans questioned how a woman on the run could have been in the same clothes for 11 days while crisscrossing one county to the other as had been alleged by the police.

Kenyans theorized that Kangogo might have been murdered by the special team that was tracing her, and her body planted at her parents home.

These questions were not only raised by ordinary Kenyans but by security experts as well. Now, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations has dispatched a team of investigators to Elgeyo Marakwet to investigate the mysterious circumstances under which Kangogo died and how she was found dead.

Reports say that Kangogo will also examine the message drafts Kangogo left behind, and which were interpreted as her suicide note. This will be in an attempt to unravel who killed Kangogo, if anyone, and whether her death was a true act of suicide by a gun shot.
