LG Electronics (LG) affirmed its lead position in the electronics by taking home the highest number of awards and recognition ever during the CES 2023 Innovation Awards.
The awards came as the global electronics powerhouse moves to include sustainability and green energy in its innovations.
Among the top honors that were bagged by LG Electronics was the coveted, Engadget Best of CES Award in the Best Home Theater Tech category for its groundbreaking LG Signature OLED M (model M3). This award was in recognition of LG’s innovation that birthed the world’s first wireless OLED TV with Zero Connect technology. LG also took honours for LG OLED evo G3 and C3.
The LG OLED evo G3 features up to a 70 percent increase in brightness versus last year’s models. The 97-inch LG Signature OLED M3 is considered the next step in the evolution of OLED TV technology and was honored by major tech publications including CNET, Digital Trends, TechRadar, Tom’s Guide, WIRED, The Verge, USA Today, PCMag and Mashable.
The new LG G3 series OLED TV featuring “evo” technology was also applauded by TechCrunch, CNET, Tom’s Guide, Reviewed and BGR. PCMag additionally highlighted the innovative LG gram Ultraslim in its Best of CES 2023 noting the laptop’s lightweight mobility.
Three of the highly coveted awards scooped by LG included Best of Innovation Awards for LG OLED in the computer peripherals, gaming and video display categories.
In addition to the awards, LG was also the recipient of 28 honours and other recognition. Out of these, 10 went to LG OLED TVs. Interestingly, this marked the 11th consecutive year that LG’s self-lit TVs have received CES Innovation Awards.
‘‘LG OLED TVs, known to offer a variety of viewing experiences to consumers with its diverse innovative form factors, are prized by consumers worldwide for their exceptional picture quality, which delivers vibrant, accurate colors, deep blacks and infinite contrast,” a statement from LG said.
“Other new line of minimalist-design appliances to be introduced in CES 2023 includes, washer and dryer. The distinctive, durable products also reflect LG’s strong commitment to sustainability, featuring recycled materials inside and out and requiring fewer parts and less energy to make than conventional appliances.”
LG Electronics shifting to renewable energy in new strategy
The awards and honours come as a vindication for LG’s new strategy for 2023 and beyond that is aimed at improving value for the end user customer.
According to LG Electronics Global CEO William Cho, LG Electronic has resolved to provide new value to its customers across the world through the introduction of groundbreaking innovations.
One of these innovations is the LG OLED which marked its tenth anniversary since launch and which a major winner at the CES 2023 exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
“LG has known and truly believed that the answer is always with the customer. The start and end of all innovation are our customers, and it is with these innovations that we aim to put a smile on their faces,” said Cho.
His sentiments were echoed by Ginny Lee from LG Electronics USA. According to Lee, LG wants to make its products accessible to all.
“Our products are adding voice guidance for more products, a sign language engine for better content viewing for the hearing impaired, and embracing valuable feedback from consumers to improve usability and performance,” said Lee.
