Mechanic dies after ramming client’s Mercedes on concrete along Thika Superhighway

A Nairobi mechanic died on Saturday nighy after he rammed a client’s Mercedes Benz S300 on a concrete pillar along the tunnel intersection of Murang’a Road and Forest along the Thika Superhighway.

Reports reaching Bizna Kenya said that the mechanic had on Thursday picked up the vehicle from a client for servicing.

“A self involved fatal road traffic accident occurred today at about 0120hrs along Thika Super Highway at Pangani tunnel involving a motor vehicle registration number KCT 985J make Mercedez Benz $300 driven by unknown male adult of about 45 years,” an accident report drafted by PC Njoroge said.

“The motor vehicle was being driven heading towards CBD from Thika general direction and on reaching at the location of the accident the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a pavement wall.”

The report said that the vehicle caught fire on the spot. The driver managed to get out but got overwhelmed by the flames. He fell afew feet away and died.

His body was moved to City Mortuary while the vehicle was towed to Pangani Police Station.
