A Kenya has come out to share how they took a loan of Sh. 650,000 to pay a Nairobi agent who had promised them a Canadian visit visa only to end up losing all the money.
The Kenyan has shared their tale as rising cases of agents who have not been licensed to offer Canadian immigration services by the Canadian government’s College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants rise in Kenya. In Kenya, there is no agent who is legally licensed to act as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
However, there are two Kenyans, Loise Githiga of Milele Immigration Services and Mbula Kalorina of Makland Canadian Immigration Services who are registered and licensed as RCIC by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
Here is the ordeal shared by Kenyan:
An Agency charged me 650k to relocate to Canada, I paid a deposit of 400k (I took a loan). I trusted the Agency because I was referred by a relative.
That was in 2022 September, since then it has been a game of cat n mouse. Around this year in June. After some time, they told me to submit my passport because my Visa was approved, which I did.
I followed up with them after 1 week but they told me the Visa was canceled, reasons not clearly stated. I have requested for my login details because I want to know the information they gave the embassy so that I can reapply by myself but they have refused to give it to me. They have also refused to give me back my money. I need help to I get my login details and money back.
Kindly don’t throw stones at me because am already stressed and depressed.
In response, a Kenyan who identified as Sahara said;
Truth hurts why should I sugarcoat it?! My friend paid 850k for UK work visa and got denied. Involved a lawyer to claim the money and the guy told her the bitter truth that no refund because there was no case. Wasn’t happy, moved to another who sucked a lot of money promising nothing but lies and got the same outcome.
I’ve been banned from Canada for using Nairobi agent, fake bank statement
If you pay for a service, don’t expect a refund especially visa related. That’s the commission plus visa fee; so how can the person be refunded? Not unless the deal included flight which can be claimed separately.
Go ahead approach a lawyer, they will milk your money for nothing. Am only saving this person more grief and financial liability. Above all, if he/she wants to seek legal advice, good luck.
