Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has lately left many Kenyans baffled with his newly found super generosity. The Member of Parliament has been donating millions of money to various churches during various events, and has quickly earned the moniker of Mr. Moneybags.
For instance, according to a report that appeared in the Standard Newspaper recently, Mr. Sudi donated up to Sh. 15 million within a few weeks in the month of June. On one occasion, the newspaper reported that he donated hard cash Sh. 2 million at a church harambee.
Earlier on, the MP who is a close associate of President William Ruto, donated Sh. 4 million in two different fundraising events that were held in Kericho and Kapsabet. The Kapsabet event was held at the Holy Family Catholic Church Ngenybokurio. In that same weekend, the paper reported that Sudi also donated Sh. 1 million to a women’s Sacco in Bomet.
These are not the only donations by Oscar Sudi that have hit the headlines. For instance, the Standard newspaper reported that in April, Sudi donated Sh. 3 million at the Kapcherop Catholic Church in Marakwet East.

Later on at the African Inland Church (AIC) in Kipkorgot, Ainabkoi constituency in Uasin Gishu, he donated Sh. 2 million and another Sh. 2 million which he said was a donation from President Ruto.
Addressing the reason behind his donations, Oscar Sudi was quoted by the Standard saying that he was following in the footsteps of President Ruto who was a bigger donor to local churches while he served as the Deputy President.
“William Ruto infected me with generosity and I am following in his footsteps because he is now in the biggest office in Kenya and has limited time to attend and contribute to church fundraising,” Sudi was quoted.
With his donations rising by the millions every weekend, questions have started to emerge on where and, or how he makes his money, with some calling for his source of funds to be probed. Others though, have given him a pass, stating that they see no problem with his donations.
