Sh. 6.6 million Isuzu mu-X SUV launched in Kenya

Isuzu East Africa has re-entered the passenger car market with the Isuzu mu-X, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) which it has priced at Sh. 6.6 million.

The new Isuzu mu-X is a midsize SUV with an authoritative stance and size that’s sure to get attention while on the road. The mu-X is perfect and practical and can be used for a quick out of town trip and as a daily driven car with your family.

Built as a 7-seater, you can take your family and friends to an on and off the road escapade with the mu-X’s impeccable smooth ride and a Terrain Command system (on 4×4 models) with a highly dependable under chassis.

With a number of storage options, you’re sure to have an ample space for your travel necessities and luggage. Passengers will also be entertained by a premium touchscreen head unit that is standard for the top-of-the-line variants.

On the Isuzu mu-X is the Euro 4-compliant 3.0L Blue Power turbocharged engine. Aside from its promise of better emission, it received a slight bump in output — 175 hp and 380 Nm of torque.

The company in 2017 exited the passenger car segment after its Chevrolet franchise was terminated by Detroit-based General Motors, which also sold its entire 57.7 per cent stake in the dealer to Japan’s Isuzu Motors.

The transaction led to a rebrand of the dealer which previously traded as General Motors East Africa (GMEA). The company is betting on the seven-seater SUV to gain a presence in the passenger car market which it was previously represented by models such as the Chevrolet Trailblazer.

“We are delighted to introduce the Isuzu mu-X to the SUV market. This is a vehicle designed for the urban lifestyle professional and people who love travel and adventure,” Rita Kavashe, Isuzu’s chief executive said in a statement.
