Silvanus Sewe’s career did not end when he failed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam, attaining a mean grade of D+.
Sewe’s academic journey began in Sagana where he scored 59 out of 72 points in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE).
He later joined Mwea Boys High School in 1987 but he faced numerous challenges which affected his academic performance. He recalled missing his third term classes while in form two due to fallout with the school principal.
However, his poor performance did not deter him from continuing with his studies. For over 15 years, he has pursued more than 20 different certificates from various colleges in Nairobi.
He holds a Certificate in Inclusive Leadership, The Power of Workplace Diversity from the University of Colorado.

He also has an international certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management.
Other academic qualifications include a Diploma in Private Investigations from the UK and a bachelor’s degree in business information and technology from the University of Greenwich.
Sewe also enrolled for his master’s degree in business administration (Corporate Management) from the University of Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA).
He recently acquired his PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership and Governance) from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
His skills in various fields have earned him spots in various institutions, including the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA), where he served as a Security Sector Board and Member of the Governing Council.
He is credited for his contribution in reviewing and aligning security laws with the 2010 Constitution.
He doubles up as an entrepreneur and is the Founder and Director of Sewe International Limited which deals with Governance and Leadership.
