My Mercedes got auctioned, now I depend on lifts – Swaleh Mdoe

One of the four banks that popular Kiswahili news anchor Swaleh Mdoe owes money has seized and auctioned his Mercedes Benz.

The car was seized following Mdoe’s inability to repay his debts. This revelation was allegedly made by Mdoe who was in the company of his media friends recently.

During a get together dinner that brought together former KTN employees, Swaleh Mdoe said that he did not have a car and was now depending on lifts. “Hata kutoka hapa nitaomba lift (even from here I will hike a lift),” he told his former colleagues.

Mdoe shot to the limelight recently when he announced that he was looking for someone who could buy his kidney in order to help him offset his bills.

It remains a mystery how Mdoe fell into his current mess, given that Swaleh Mdoe’s salary is regarded as one of the well paid journalists in the country.

When put to task over his problems, Mdoe clapped back at Kenyans saying that even the government is currently broke. he said:

“Kenya is Sh. 84 billion broke”-CS Rotich. So if the GoK can be broke why are people surprised when I declared that I am in a financial crisis?..Just thinking aloud.”

Swaleh Mdoe’s salary is estimated to be at between Sh. 350,000 and Sh. 500,000 per month.
