Meet tycoon who owns Guardian Angel bus company, Nyamira Express and Guardian Hotel

Guardian Angel Bus company is a Kenyan powerhouse that has stood the test of time for over 8 years by providing excellent services to its customers.

Its fleet of vehicles efficiently operates from Nairobi to the Western parts of the country.

The bus company has burgeoned into a formidable presence in the transportation industry, yet its owners prefer to maintain the status of silent tycoons.

Co-Op center

Guardian Angel bus company is owned by the late Ong’era Moturi and his family. Mr Moturi sadly succumbed in 2019 after a stroke. Aged 95 years, Moturi left behind his legacy and business, which is currently managed by his family.

Ong’era Moturi, the late Kisii investment mogul, was a shrewd businessman who seized every opportunity to create wealth and employment opportunities.

He took over from his father, Nahashon Ong’era Omote, and expanded the family business to include Guardian Coach Ltd and Nyamira Express.

NCBA

Kisii natives have made a name for themselves in the matatu business nationwide, with the Guardian’s biggest competitors being Transline Classic and ENA Coach, which is owned by Evans Nyagaka Anyona.

Ong’era’s influence extended beyond the transport industry, as he was also highly respected in Nyamira politics. Former Governor John Nyagarama regarded him as a model for good governance.

Co-Op post

With his brand’s motto ‘The best ahead of the rest’ always in mind, Ong’era was able to realize his dreams through the success of Nyamira Express, Guardian Hotel, and Guardian Coach.
