Former Speaker Justin Muturi’s wealth more than doubled from Sh. 300 million to over Sh. 700 million in about one year.
During his vetting for the position of Attorney General by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, Muturi revealed that he is now worth Sh. 700 million. He claimed that much of his wealth comes from his 31 years of public service.
“I’m a modest public servant with a net worth of about Sh. 700 million from farming and legal consultancy,” Muturi said.
In November 2021, Muturi had stated that he was worth Sh. 300 million during a Question & Answer session on Twitter.
He had said that he had made this money through businesses he established and funded through his civil service salary and through bank loans.
