Equity Group, Schneider Partners to Promote Access to Affordable Energy in DRC

Equity Group, during the recently concluded Kenya-DRC Investors Roadshow, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric to promote access to affordable energy solutions.

The deal, inked at the EquityBCDC head office in Kinshasa, DRC, aims to promote access to affordable energy solutions to enhance the quality of life for consumers in the DRC.

Equity Group Managing Director and CEO James Mwangi said the program will support over 1 million households in DRC with energy devices.

As we say in the slogan, energy for all, ensuring every household access energy affordably, conveniently, and in a manner that it can contribute to the enhancement of their quality of life.’’ Said Mwangi.

Equity launches 2022 Sustainability Report

The two firms will also join hands in the opening of 10 DRC nationwide training centers to offer young people training in skills related to clean energy deployment.

The Kenya-DRC Investors Roadshow began on Monday, July 17, in Nairobi and saw Equity Group investors visit key Cities in Kenya and DRC with the aim of boosting trade and investments.

“We are excited to host the Kenya and DRC Investors’ Roadshow, which serves as a remarkable opportunity for investors and partners from around the world to expand their business networks in these dynamic African markets,” Mwangi said.

The five-day mission provided for meetings with government officials, business associations, and industry leaders and site visits to showcase potential investment opportunities. The final leg of the roadshow took place on July 22 in Lubumbashi, the DRC’s economic hub.
