Owners of 15,000 uncollected logbooks might face fines for failing to collect their documents from the NTSA.
This is according to the transport authority. According to NTSA, Nairobi leads with 8,763 uncollected logbooks followed by Mombasa with 5,998. Kisumu and Nyeri follow with 228 and 130 logbooks respectively.
NTSA director general Francis Meja on Tuesday said the authority may be forced to introduce fines if the owners delay to get their documents. “Applicants should move with speed and pick their documents,” Meja said.
He added that the transport regulator has attempted to contact the individuals via SMS and through the TIMS account.
The Transport Integrated Management System (TIMS) is used for registration and transfer of motor vehicle ownership.
