Details on the mysterious life Frank Obegi and his friends lived have began to emerge after he was found murdered with his friends in Kijabe Forest.
According to Obegi’s acquaintances, the social media influencer was living large and had huge amounts of money whose origin he could not explain.
Obegi and his friends Moses Nyachae and Elijah Omeke are said to have been involved in the wash wash business in Nairobi. In 2020, they allegedly narrowly escaped death in a wash wash deal in Nairobi.
A Twitter user who was identified as @AngelTeshy recalled how Obegi lived large.
“I recall very well I once saw this Frank Obegi guy in a certain entertainment joint in Westlands, and boy was popping bottles like hell in a group of women and other dudes.”
Obegi has also been alleged to have been part of a gang that scammed people at ATMs. Victims have come out to claim that they were scammed by the three murdered individuals.
The bodies of Elijah Omeka, Frank Obegi and Mose Nyachae were on Sunday, June 19, discovered in Kijabe Forest, while that of Fred Obare Mokaya was found in Magadi.
Of the four, Frank Obegi was the most known as he was a Twitter influencer. Unconfirmed reports claimed that he was also among a group that scammed people online through Cryptocurrency. Obegi is said to have gone missing in Kasarani last week.
The bodies of Omeka, Obegi and Nyachae were picked from Kijabe Forest and taken to the City Mortuary on Sunday evening June 19, while Mokaya’s body was taken to the same facility on the morning of Monday, June 20.
“One of them had been partially eaten by wild animals. Their private parts had been cut off and it seems they died through strangulation. They had no identification documents and were naked,”
A report that appeared in the Daily Nation suggested that the police were pursuing a woman who is alleged to have lured Obegi and his friends to their death.
