5 Inooro Tv presenters quit to join DP Ruto’s Kameme Tv

A number of major Inooro Tv presenters are set to quit the station.

According to a report that apeared in Kenyan media news blog Business Today, the presenters will be joining Kameme Tv whose majority shareholder is Deputy President William Ruto.

Apparently, the quitting Inooro Tv presenters include Dj Smile and Nyambura Kabue who host the music and entertainment show dubbed ‘Mwigangaro’, and news hosts Ken Wakuraya and Muthoni Mukiri.

The hostess of the medical show ‘Dagitari’ is also expected to quit. This show is hosted by veteran journalist Wambui Muturi, who has also doubled as a Inooro Fm breakfast show hostess. She replaced Waithera Muithirinai who unsuccessfully vied for the Murang’a Women Representative’s seat.

Reports say these presenters will be quitting following a pay dispute with their employer. Apparently, they have been demanding for a pay hike but have been dismissed by the Human Resource desk at Inooro.

The television station is owned by Royal Media Services (RMS) which belongs to S.K Macharia.

On the other end, DP Ruto owns a 60 per cent stake in Mediamax, which owns Kameme Tv. President Uhuru owns about 38 per cent of Mediamax while Equity’s James Mwangi is said to own about 12 per cent.
