Blow as more top KTN journalists quit to join rival

Standard Media Group’s television station KTN has been dealt a blow. This is after more KTN journalists quit the station to join a rival media house.

It is being reported that the KTN journalists will be joining Royal Media Group’s Citizen Tv.

Deputy Managing Editor (Swahili) Miswaleh Zingizi, award-winning Features and Documentaries Editor Asha Mwilu and Senior News Editor Noah Otieno are all headed to Communications Centre where they would join their former Managing Editor Joe Ageyo and Head of Senior Anchors and show host Yvonne Okwara-Matole.

Media news blog, Business Today reports that the raid at KTN by Royal Media follows another at NTV where SK. Macharia has poached its Editor Pamela Asigi and news anchors Jamila Mohammed and Victoria Rubadiri. Former General Manager Linus Kaikai who left after falling out with Editor-in-Chief Tom Mshindi has also been appointed as RMS’s Strategy and Innovation Director.

“Apart from the KTN journalists, RMS also poached Vincent Ateya from Qwetu Radio and named him its head of itsLuhya language radio stations – Mulembe FM, Sulwe FM and Vuuka FM,” it reports.
