The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service issued a notice regarding the Kenya Medical and Training College portal applications.

They announced that they would keep the portal open for a 2-day window until July 12 to facilitate the application of students who wish to enrol at KMTC colleges across the country, after which all applications will be locked out.

“Seeking an opportunity to join KMTC starting September 2024? The KUCCPS application portal for placement to KMTC will close on July 12th, 2024!” the notice read in part.

Furthermore, KUCCPS announced that students who had applied for KMTC courses can now check their application status on the portal.

A list of 23 courses will be available for students to apply for at KMTC institutions, ranging from Certificate to Diploma programs. The portal will also provide the necessary cluster points for each course.

In the engineering category, students have the option to enrol in either a Certificate or Diploma program in Medical Engineering.

Other certificate courses offered include Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, and Community Health Assistance. Furthermore, learners can opt for certificates in Nutrition and Dietetics or Medical Emergency Technology.

Available diploma courses at campuses include programs in Health Records and Information Technology, Public Health, Health Counseling, and Physiotherapy.

Students interested in courses like Optometry and Dental Technology have been encouraged to submit their applications too.

The decision to open the portal follows after the July 4th deadline for inter-institutional transfer for students in degree programs.
