Police now raiding Billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi’s homes, offices, restaurants

Police officers have now expanded their raids into residences of controversial billionaire Jimmy Wanjigi. By 1pm on Tuesday, the police were holding raids at his offices located at Kwacha House and his Caramel restaurant which is located at ABC Place in Westlands.

The raid at his Muthaiga Home was also ongoing. Although it has not been immediately made clear why the police are raiding the billionaire’s homes, reports indicate that government spokesman Eric Kiraithe has termed them as ‘matters of national security’.

The raids kicked off on Monday afternoon when police raided his Malindi home and allegedly recovered ammunition.

A contingent of officers from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit later stormed Wanjigi’s Muthaiga 44 residence on Monday afternoon.

Mr. Wanjigi together with his wife Irene Nzisa, Mr Wanjigi on Tuesday sued Inspector-General Joseph Boinnet and Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko.

While a Nairobi magistrate court on Tuesday morning issued a search warrant allowing the police to search his residences and offices, he claims the officers do not have the said warrant.

He also denies knowledge of the cache of firearms, which was allegedly found in one of his Malindi home.
