Citizen TV Swahili presenter Mashirima Kapombe is mourning the death of her mother.

The celebrated media personality broke the devastating news on her social media on September 26, 2024, expressing her sorrow.

“Broken. Eternal rest grant unto mum Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she Rest in peace. Amen,” she wrote on her X account.

However, the journalist did not disclose the cause of the death of her mother.  The news comes just a few days after Kapombe shared a post celebrating her mother.

The Swahili news anchor wrote, “My mum, my everything,” reflecting the deep bond she had with her.

Several celebrities and her colleagues have sent their condolence messages to the Swahili news anchor, comforting her during this hard time.

Among those who have sent comforting messages to the news anchor are citizen TV presenter Lilian Muli, comedian Jackyvike alias Awinja, and Fridah Mwaka, among others.

Mashirima is an award-winning Reporter and anchor with 8 years of experience in the local media scene.

The Bachelor of Arts in Communications graduate’s mother was a Taita from Voi, while her father is a Giriama from Kilifi County who works as a dentist in Nyeri County. She is a mother of one son.
