Kilimall is wooing women to online shopping to grow its market share in Kenya. The leading online shopping mall has launched a campaign to celebrate female customers ahead of the International Women’s Day to be observed on March 8th to tap the huge pool of female shoppers.
The e-commerce giant has launched a campaign dubbed #BeBoldwithKilimall, in line with this year’s International Women’s Day theme ‘Be Bold for Change’. Under the campaign prices of various products targeted at women – fashion, household items, smartphones, bags and beauty products – have been slashed by up to 50%.
The campaign – which runs between 27th and 10th of March – is aimed at increasing women’s confidence in shopping online.
A ladies’ competition will run across the company’s social media channels where women will share their dreams and winners will be rewarded with surprise gifts.
Kilimall Kenya Managing Director Victor Ma said Kilimall is seeking to win the confidence of women shoppers as it strives to make e-commerce a lifestyle in Kenya. “Women in Kenya and all over the world go through several challenges. This International Women’s Day, we are encouraging women to boldly stand up to these challenges and achieve their dreams. We are asking all women, whether professional women, family women, girls in colleges or women in sports to join us in creating a bolder woman,” he added.
The winners of the social media competition will be announced on the International Women’s Day. Apart from the social media competition, Kilimall customers will be treated to hourly flash sales between 6th and 10th March with up to 90% in discounts.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on March 8 every year with the focus of the celebration being respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements and abilities.
