On October, 17, 2023 Bizna Kenya published the story of Maryann Mwaura who alleged to have lost her investment made through Safaricom Investment Co- operative (SIC). Due to a production error, SIC was referred to as Safaricom Sacco in the story.

We wish to clarify that SIC and Safaricom Sacco are two different entities. Safaricom Sacco is a separate and independent entity from SIC. We take this opportunity to apologize to Safaricom Sacco for any injury caused by this production error.
