Popular Swahili news anchor at Nation Media Group’s NTV Nimrod Taabu has resigned. This ks according to news reaching us.
The reports indicate that Nimrod Taabu will be joining NTV’s rival Citizen TV. The presenter quits NTV hot on the heels of Rashid Abdalla, who recently quit the station to join Citizen, where his wife works as a news anchor.
Over the recent few months, Citizen Tv has been on a poaching spree that has seen a majority of top journalists from NTV leave. This has left the station wounded and with low staff members.
It is expected that Citizen Tv will be relaunching and unveiling a top team of broadcasters as it seeks to stamp its authority in Kenya’s television broadcasting.
Apart from Nimrod Taabu, NTV has recently also suffered the loss of Jamila Mohamed, Linus Kaikai, Larry Madowo and Pamela Asigi. All of them apart from Madowo have joined Citizen, while Madowo is now working with the BBC.
